Origin

Crafted at origin

Ceiba Coffees sources single-origin microlots from Guatemala’s high-altitude coffee regions around Lake Atitlán. Inspired by the sacred ceiba tree, a symbol of life and connection in Maya mythology, our coffee reflects the vibrant roots, spirit, and sustainability of its origins.

The drying patios in the photograph are at La Voz que Clama en el Desierto, a coffee cooperative in San Juan La Laguna, Sololá, on Lake Atitlán. The mill wall reads Orgánico De Altura.

Public descriptions checked on 23 October 2026 say this cooperative grows organic Arabica in volcanic soil, then washes the coffee and dries it on patios. Importer sheets commonly list Typica, Bourbon, and Caturra, at about 1,300–1,550 meters. Those sheets describe the cooperative. They are not a Ceiba lot.

Project notes proposed a light roast from this cooperative, with bright citrus, delicate florals, and honey sweetness, and said the coffee was washed with spring water. Those notes are not a current offer. This site does not publish a price, a bag size, or a certificate number.

The 1,300–1,550 meter figure is this cooperative’s importer sheet. One regional profile of Traditional Atitlán lists about 1,400–1,800 meters. Another card, still widely quoted, narrows the same region to about 1,640–1,706 meters, which is 5,000–5,600 feet. Farms on the volcano slopes go higher: San Isidro Chacaya, between Volcán San Pedro and the lake, lists about 1,555–2,100 meters. One San Juan offer, from families in Pasajquim, is published at about 1,200–1,400 meters. Raised beds are used around the lake as well as patios. This photograph is patios. Varieties and lots Ceiba can discuss are listed separately.
